David GarciaDave Garcia:

Dave Garcia was born in South El Paso on December 17, 1953. He went to St.Patrick Elementary School before attending prep school at Jesuit Preparatory. In 1972 he started college at University of Dallas, then finished at Southern Methodist University in Journalism.

During that summer while on his way to Nursing School, KTSM TV came calling. Since David had worked at KROD radio between school semesters, the move to a full-time radio job seemed logical.   Read more about Dave

The El Paso times watch dog kept barking until someone answered the door.

This morning the El Paso times watch dog kept barking until someone answered the door. Because of them, we now know the names of El Paso police officers involved in two recent shootings here in El Paso. They fought until a decision to keep those names secret was  reversed  We got the names only after the El Paso Times filed a public information act request and questioned the policy developed recently by the Police Department's public information office.

Officers Edwin Mayorga and Rodolfo Moreno were the officers involved in the fatal shooting of John Dalton Martinez last week after he supposedly shot and wounded another man  in Central El Paso.
