David GarciaDave Garcia:

Dave Garcia was born in South El Paso on December 17, 1953. He went to St.Patrick Elementary School before attending prep school at Jesuit Preparatory. In 1972 he started college at University of Dallas, then finished at Southern Methodist University in Journalism.

During that summer while on his way to Nursing School, KTSM TV came calling. Since David had worked at KROD radio between school semesters, the move to a full-time radio job seemed logical.   Read more about Dave

Julie Tarwater's daughter died in an accidental pool drowing, she thinks tougher rules would have saved her Emmy. No she's just one El Paso parent glad city councilors approved new laws for home pools. Now if you have a pool already and no small children, the new rules don't apply to you. However, if you build a pool or buy a home with a pool, and you have children younger than six, you have to follow these new rules.Pool owners must have at least a 5-foot around your entire house, or install a lock and alarm on any door leading to the pool. Or you can cover it with a net, or keep it covered when you're not in it. Anf that's not cool with El Pasoans like Larry Arciniega, who's taught his kids how to swim and keeps an eye on his kids and pool. Still if you don’t follow the new rules it could mean $2,000 a day fine.
