Serious health problems on the desk of many El Pasoans this morning

Serious health problems are on the desk of many El Pasoans this morning.

First: There’s a huge forum on a preventable killer - Tuberculosis. Our Congressman Silvestre Reyes is supposed to be there along with State Senator Eliot Shapleigh and public health officials from El Paso, New Mexico and Juárez.

Last year 80 people were diagnosed with TB in El Paso.

And here’s something they’ll be talking about: ties that now show Thirty-eight percent of those people also had diabetes.

And at other meetings Veterinarians and animal experts predict a bad year for one of the most feared and deadly illnesses for dogs -- parvovirus.

It’s that time of year for parvo in fact it’s started earlier this year in The intestinal virus though can be prevented.

Vaccinate you your dogs be vaccinated as soon as possible.

It’s a series of three to five vaccinations that start when they’re 6 to 8 weeks old.
