Dave Garcia was born in South El Paso on December 17, 1953. He went to St.Patrick Elementary School before attending prep school at Jesuit Preparatory. In 1972 he started college at University of Dallas, then finished at Southern Methodist University in Journalism.

During that summer while on his way to Nursing School, KTSM TV came calling. Since David had worked at KROD radio between school semesters, the move to a full-time radio job seemed logical.   Read more about Dave

Is a basketball star guilty of bad friends or bad judgement?

This morning there’s more to a story NewsRadio First brought you.

UTEP basketball star Stefon Jackson is in more trouble than first thought. At first, it looked like he was only guilty of bad friends, this morning he’s staring at hiding a federal fugitive charges.

Jackson was busted four days after he supposedly lied to a sheriff's deputy when he told him he didn’t know where his 20 year old cousin Willie Harden Junior was.

It seems Harden is a pretty dangerous character wanted on six felony warrants including two attempted murders in Pennsylvania.

And that’s not all when deputies search Jackson’s apartment after taking down Harden they found another man wanted for murder hiding under the bed.

But for now, it look like, Jackson may have not known about the second guy’s past.

 The 21-year old Jackson is looks at a serious charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution tied to the arrest of Harden.
