It's hard not to be dissapointed with the performance of the Utep Miners these last to weeks.  To say that this is not what we expected is an understatement.  I didn't expect them to beat Kansas, but I thought they would play better.  I guess not.  I thought the defense did a good job keeping the Miners in the game during the first half, but I can't figure out what's wrong with the Miner offense.  Everybody seems to be lost out there.  And the worst thing is that I really not impressed by Kansas.  The sad thing is that Utep has so much potential, but it's just not coming together.  They seem to last discipline.  El Paso is the type of sports town that only shows up if they are winning, which is a sad statement...But it's true.  Utep has no choice, they need to beat NMSU on Saturday if they don't the Sun Bowl will be empty when they play Houston.
