1. USC..... have you seen the athletes they put on the field? They look like the Pittsburgh Steelers on defense
2. Alabama.....control the line of scrimage, don't use a sexy spread offense but have playmakers (see Julio Jones, Glen Coffee) QB John Parker Wilson manages game well and doesn't make lots of mistakes
3. Oklahoma..... the real deal, have blown out some big opponents. Only an early loss to UT on a neutral field is keeping them from being a unanimous number 1. Suspect on defense and special teams.
4. Florida... Tebow and company clicking at the right time...suddenly a early home loss to Cotton Bowl bound Ole Miss not looking too bad. Might struggle if all world wr Percy Harvin can't go against Bama, but have enough studs to fill the void.
5. Texas Tech...even though they needed a last second miracle to beat Texas, they dominated the Horns for 3 1/2 quarters. Ran into a buzzsaw having to play Oklahoma in Norman after a bye week.
5a/6. The University of Texas....love Colt McCoy...shows how a great qb can make a good team overachieve....This was supposed to be a rebuilding year, and they were one play from an undefeated season in the lion's den known as the Big 12 south.
