County leader’s just know that when a deputy constable shot a guy he pulled over for a broken headlight, he opened the door for trouble. El Paso’s six constables are being called on the carpet for the claims of misconduct by deputies. Deputy Constable Mario Ramos responded to a routine traffic stop over the weekend with a high speed pursuit and then shot Juan Ortegon when he made a run for it. Ramos is on paid leave while his case is still in the DA’s office . Ortegon is still in the hospital, but in custody.
