He's the guy they say shot Lincoln County sheriff's Sgt. Robert Shepperd during a routine traffic stop in Ruidoso. Now we can tell you Kurt Shorbeck was shot and killed while on a bike ride. He didn’t go quietly. Some one called the police when they spotted him and a deputy dashed to see if it was him. It was and a gun fight started. The guy on the bike, Schorbeck, shot first and the deputy finished him off. By the way, Shepperd, the deputy shot by Schorbeck is getting better here at the El Paso County hospital.
