Here’s an amazing update to a story NewsRadio is following for you. Remember those guys caught trying to smuggle a .50-caliber semiautomatic rifle and other assault weapons into Mexico last week? Well we’ve found out one of them is actually a CEO of a religious charity!

The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms says Jonathan Lopez Gutierrez runs Emmanuel Ministries. It’s a 40-year-old shelter for about 100 children in Juárez.  It’s also medical and dental clinic and a ballet program.

Lopez, is really a Mexican citizen, who’s in jail here now. He was taken down on the Stanton Street bridge driving a van loaded with six high powered rifles and the .50-caliber machine gun hidden under a load of roofing shingles.
