This morning he’s a firefighter, this afternoon he’ll be a firefighter school board member.
Fire Department Lieutenant Joe Sarabia is cleared to serve on the Socorro School board. Voters selected Joe Sarabia in the May 10th election, but paragraph "C" of Rule 17 of the Civil Service Rules and Regulations kept him from the office. That is until now. The Civil Service Commission deleted the rule, and city council approved it. Sarabia will be sworn in this afternoon at a special school board meeting.
