This morning some are calling it just a “slap on the wrist” but A deputy constable has been censured by the El Paso County Board of Ethics for using his official authority to hinder another constable’s rights. Deputy Constable Cecil Melton filed the complaint. against Precinct 7 Deputy Constable Jesus "Gus" Ramirez, who told Milton not to help another candidate during a recent election by saying "Don't help them; that's the competition." Adding, "Hey, Melton, you better start looking for another job." Ramirez won the election but, the ethics board decided that Ramirez's threats to use his official authority if elected against Melton was a violation of the county code of ethics.
