From an Amber alert to a jail cell for murder

-Here’s an update to a story NewsRadio first brought you. This morning that 15-year-old girl, who came to El Paso just ahead of a Florida Amber Alert, and her boyfriend face some serious time for fatally beating, stabbing and suffocating an older man. Morgan Amanda Leppert, and Toby Lowery are wanted on Putnam County first-degree murder warrants for killing 66-year-old James Stewart. They’re in the El Paso county lock up right now. Toby has even more problems Her boyfriend, who’s 22, will be extradited on charges of grand theft auto for stealing Stewart's pickup and interference of custody as well as the first-degree murder charges. The couple was busted on an El Paso street corner when a motorist spotted them after seeing the Amber Alert in Florida. Stewart was beaten with two metal rods, stabbed several times and suffocated with a plastic bag over his head. Leppert went in April. An Amber alert went out when they thought Lowry who has a bad criminal record had something to do with her disappearance.
