Middle School teacher back in court today

Lance Weinbrenner, is a former Chaparral Middle School teacher and she’ll be back in a courtroom not a classroom this morning.

Weinbrenner, 41, is accused of molesting a teenager. Weinbrenner is looking a time for three counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor. The teen’s grandmother says Weinbrenner would take the boy on trips with overnight stays, both as a mentor and a Scout leader.

The defense says the grandmother asked the teacher to help get the boy back on track with school, but when he was disciplined, the teenage boy got upset and used the molestation story to get back at Weinbrenner.
